# Unit reference
 The same field name can carry different units on different endpoints: volume is always lots, but amount is CNY on K-line and CNY-10k on snapshot. Mixing them up throws the value off by 100x to 10,000x.

## The short version

- `volume` is **always lots**, not shares — multiply by 100 for shares.

- `amount` **differs by endpoint**: **CNY** on K-line / quote, **CNY-10k (万元)** on `/v1/snapshot`.

- Market cap is **CNY-100m (亿元)**, share count is **shares**, turnover rate is a **percent value** (`0.31` = 0.31%).

- Every price is in **CNY**, and every numeric value is a **string**.

## How to verify it yourself

 Do not take the descriptions on faith — run a **price cross-check**. Two steps:

 **Step 1** — take one day of K-line and compute `amount ÷ (volume × 100)`:

```
4797250000 ÷ (38331 × 100) = 1251.5
```
 **Step 2** — see whether that number falls inside the day’s **low ~ high**. The range that day was `1236.05` ~ `1268`, and `1251.5` lands inside it.

 That single check proves two things at once: `volume` is in **lots** (you must multiply by 100 to get shares), and `amount` is in **CNY**. If either unit were wrong, the result would be off by 100x or 10,000x — obvious at a glance.

 The same check holds on a second day: `3260060000 ÷ (26366 × 100)` = 1236.5, inside that day’s `1230.88` ~ `1245.87`.

## Common misuses

- **Treating amount as CNY-10k** — on K-line / quote it is **CNY**; assuming CNY-10k is off by **10,000x**.

- **Treating volume as shares** — it is **lots**; multiply by **100** for shares.

- **Mixing amount across endpoints** — `/v1/kline` is CNY, `/v1/snapshot` is CNY-10k; the same name differs by **10,000x**.

- **Treating turnover as a fraction** — `0.31` means **0.31%**, not 31%.

 Units taken from the endpoint descriptions and live responses on 2026-10-05 (/v1/kline, /v1/quote, /v1/snapshot), cross-checked with "amount ÷ (volume × 100) must land inside that day's low–high range" on two trading days.
