A-Share Data in Grok Bot

Grok Bot supports custom remote MCP servers: add a public URL and a Bearer header, then ask for A-share quotes, financials and K-lines inside the Bot.

Use a remote MCP server, not a local process

Grok Bot can add a custom MCP server. Our endpoint is remote Streamable HTTP, so the Bot connects from the cloud; you do not need a local service or open port.

  • URL: https://api.ashareapi.com/mcp
  • Auth: Authorization: Bearer <ashareapi Key>
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Public HTTPS required; localhost is not supported

Before you start

  • A Grok Bot on an eligible paid tier
  • An ashareapi API key; use a separate read-only key
  • Verify the key over REST: GET /v1/quote?code=sh600519

Add it by asking the Bot

Grok Bot can add a remote MCP server from a message and shows an approval card before saving. Send this with your key:

Message to Grok Bot
Add a custom remote MCP server.
Name: ashareapi
URL: https://api.ashareapi.com/mcp
Authentication: HTTP header "Authorization" with value "Bearer <YOUR_ASHAREAPI_KEY>"

On the approval card, confirm Remote HTTPS, the correct URL, and the Authorization: Bearer ... header.

Or add it from Connectors

  • Open grok.com/connectors
  • Click New Connector → Custom
  • Enter https://api.ashareapi.com/mcp
  • Complete authentication; if the page only offers OAuth, use the Bot Remote HTTPS + header flow

Verify: tools first, then three questions

Ask the Bot to list MCP tools. Confirm ashare_quote, ashare_finance and ashare_kline appear.

Ask inside Grok Bot
Get the latest quote for sh600519

Get 600519 revenue for 2026Q3

Show the last 30 daily K-lines for 600519

401 or no tools

401
Header treated as OAuth
Ask for Remote HTTPS + Authorization: Bearer explicitly
No tools
URL public
Use https://api.ashareapi.com/mcp, not a private address
Connection fails
Trailing slash
Try https://api.ashareapi.com/mcp/
Blocked on a team
Cursor MCP policy
Ask an admin to allow it in Team Marketplace / Plugins & MCPs
Timeout
Result too large
Lower count / limit / num, then batch

Grok Bot teams inherit the Cursor connector policy; a blocked server shows Disabled by team admin.

Which tier: upgrade by workload

Quotes and K-lines can start on the base allowance; financials, batch calls, screening and research need a higher tier. See the full pricing page.

FAQ

Does Grok Bot support MCP?

Yes. Grok Bot can add custom remote MCP servers; team workspaces apply the Cursor connector policy.

Do I need a local server?

No. We provide a public remote MCP endpoint. Only local servers need a tunnel.

How do I set the Bearer key?

Ask the Bot to add an Authorization header with the value Bearer <Key>. Do not put the key in the URL.

Why is it missing on a team?

An admin may need to allow it in Cursor Team Marketplace / Plugins & MCPs. A blocked server shows Disabled by team admin.

Grok Bot entry and Remote HTTPS/custom header behavior checked against xAI Grok Bot computer-and-apps, Grok Connectors and teams-and-enterprises docs on 2026-10-31; MCP URL and Bearer auth follow the live ashareapi endpoint.
